Being Part Time Diaper Free has the potential to make a noticeable impact on the amount of diaper related waste going into landfill and taking up your time with managing it all. When you start looking into it, the three “R’s”, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle apply in many ways to the gentle practice of Elimination Communication (EC), and you also get the bonus of a new understanding of your baby’s needs and communication. With EC you…

Recycling Is Great – Reducing and Reusing are Better

As you become part time diaper free, you’ll find many ways of reducing your impact on our global environment by the choice it will offer you, the money you will save…Start by replacing some of your ‘disposable’ products like wipes, diaper liners and diaper bags with washable cloth versions. Enough for one day per week is easy and economical. Each time you use a washable product, waste is diverted from the environment and you save money!

Consider How Elimination Communication Will Help You Reduce and Reuse to Benefit the Earth:

Reduce

Reduce your changing of poopy diapers by ‘catching’ them in a baby potty, bucket or the loo! Reduce your need for diapers, diaper bags, diaper creams, baby wipes… Reduce your dependence on disposable products… Reduce the risk of diaper rash as you are confident in managing diaper-free time. Reduce the money you are spending on disposable diapers. Reduce the sheer bulk of disposable diaper waste as you slowly use less diapers.

Reuse

Reuse, for several hours, then at times all day long, diapers that stay dry and clean – just like knickers! Reuse cloth wipes. Reuse flannels again and again. Reuse washable diapers over and over… Reuse washable, waterproof diaper free time mats… Reuse your baby gear on your next baby

When you are Part Time Diaper Free you are embracing the ‘Green’ movement, caring for our environment by practicing EC and the 3 ‘R’s’ of Recycle, Reuse and Reduce, and perhaps best of all, reducing through avoiding using some of those diapers at all.

Remember: The most environmentally friendly diaper is the one you don’t use – even if your baby is wearing it!

Reduce your use of diapers by just one per day – it will really add up over time. Elimination Communication is an Eco-Friendly practice that you and your baby will enjoy.

The need for alternative energy sources is nothing new but in this present time, the need is urgent on a global level. People and governments are reeling from the impact of the startling rise in energy costs and alarmed at the many dangers posed by environmental problems.Across history, we have seen change in the kinds of energies used.

As early as the 1200s, people swapped wood for coal as deforestation occurred locally. 300 years later, societies then depended on petroleum after depleting the supply of whale oil used to fuel lamps. In the early 1900s, corn-based ethanol oil supplied the demand for energy. When the world started to run on wheels and navigate the skies and seas, the need for fuel increased, eventually drying up local oil wells.

As a result, the US turned to importing oil to keep transportation, industry, and domestic needs moving, eventually relying so heavily on foreign oil that 58% of its supply is now imported.According to the latest statistics from the US government, global energy consumption is still increasing and by 2030, it’s expected that the world will require 700 quadrillion BTU in order to keep running.

Switch or Stay?

Besides the depletion of our natural energy resources, across the globe, people are also feeling the effects of the increasing cost of electricity and the rising cost of living expenses. On the home front, this poses a dilemma, as family needs are a priority, and electricity certainly qualifies as a basic need.

So what are the alternatives to providing the basics, yet still offer affordability?

As a result, many people are seeing “green”. The green movement is tapping alternative energy sources instead of relying too much on utility companies for energy needs. Alternative sources of energy provide renewable sources for your electricity needs at the fraction of the cost of utility-supplied energy.

The switch to alternative sources of energy will take time to put into action across the country but as the energy landscape changes, more homes and industries will be using alternative energy. likely triggering the decline of over-dependence on imported oil. This will be good for economies dependent on expensive imported oil, like the United States.

These are very good reasons for evaluating alternative energy sources NOW.

To get started, assess which alternative source of energy is best for your needs – solar, geothermal or wind energy options.

Popular Forms of Alternative Energy Sources

Solar energy is a favorite renewable energy alternative for domestic energy. This option uses photovoltaic technology to convert sunlight into electrical energy. Solar panels alone produce hot water and steam. Combined, these technologies provide optimum energy to power homes. Solar energy has very low levels of carbon dioxide emissions compared to gasoline emissions of the same chemical compound that is partly to blame for climate change.

For geothermal energy, the earth’s heat is tapped to supply energy needs. To trap this energy, holes are drilled deep to the level where a potential geothermal heat spot is present. The escaping steam is directed into a turbine linked to a running generator, which converts steam to electricity. This is the preferred method for large industry and utility companies.

The homeowner, however, need not dig so far to enjoy the benefits of geothermal energy. The geothermal heat pump uses the stable ground temperature a few hundred feet under the ground to provide you with heat and air conditioning. It can also provide you with hot water.

Wind energy is converted to electricity with the use of wind turbines. Wind power produces a minimal 1.5 per cent of the world’s electricity. Currently, this is a popular alternative energy source in Denmark, Germany, Spain and Portugal.

Choosing Your Alternative Energy Source

Keep in mind that it is not cheap to install solar panels or invest in geothermal or wind energy – it will depend too on the volume of electricity you need to power your home – but the rewards later on will last a lifetime. You may also be eligible for a federal tax credit, if you’re a US resident, but many governments around the world are offering incentives to residents to convert to renewable energy sources.

Talk to alternative energy merchants and ask them to help you make the transition from utility supplied energy to alternative energy source today.

Reuse Paper – Everyday we waste paper and a lot of paper can be reused. Give paper that is only printed or written on one side to you kids to draw on. You can use the same paper for scratch paper, leave some by the phone to write message on. You can also run paper through the printer on the other side for rough drafts.

Reuse Plastic Bags – We use the plastic bag our bread comes in over and over again. We save money on plastic bags and they come in handy.Reuse empty glass containers – I like use mustard jars, jelly jars etc for screws, nuts and bolts in the garage. I also use them on my desk for pushpins, paper clips and pens. You can dress them up by decorating them with puffy paints. I put them in the bathroom for hair clips and rubber bands. They have a ton of uses.

Reuse wrapping paper, gift bags and cards – I save all my wrapping and reuse it on smaller gift. Gift bags can always be used again and again. Cards and be cut down and used a gift tags. I also use all these items when making gift cards. I scrapbook and make homemade cards, these items come in handy for background and designs.

Reuse plastic containers – I reuse butter tubs, cool whip tubs, fresh salsa tubs for my household Tupperware. Saving this type of container also come in handy at dinner parties. Use them to sent leftovers home with others and you don’t have to worry about getting you good container back.

Reuse clothing – I like to use clothing that I don’t use anymore and are not in good shape to give away as rags.

When you cannot find a use for something in your house there are many other people who can. Donate as many items as you can. There are many people who benefit from donations. If you cannot reuse than recycle. Electrical items can also be recycled, you may not want to refurbish it yourself but someone out there will.

Don’t just throw out broken items they can be used for parts. With a little effort you can find someone to take your broken or unwanted goods.

Baidulinx Inc. and WWF: Partners in Conservation

Conservation of our Planet and its species is one of the hottest topics for the last decade. At Baidulinx Inc we are proud to be part of the World Wildlife Funds ‘Partners in Conservation’ program. In an increasingly technologically revolving world it is easy to forget that we are not the only species on the planet that needs looking after.

The depletion of rivers, rainforests and the seas population means that we are in a world that needs to act now! It is all our responsibility to protect and preserve.Whether it is dolphins in the Atlantic or rhinos in the Serengeti, without our support these creatures will soon fade away and without them the world will be a less beautiful place.

The internet has opened up opportunities and avenues that never existed 25yrs ago. Since its advent it has brought people of common causes together and there is no better cause that the WWF. With our ‘Language Specific’ search engine we intend to promote their cause.Baidulinx Inc. is now an official partner with the WWF and is looking forward to incorporating their campaigns alongside our website.
